Bactomatic

The pharmaceutical industry, although developing dynamically, still faces the problem of tedious, labor-intensive microbiological work. Monotonous diagnostics and repetitive activities consume far too much of specialists’ time. There are no solutions on the market that would improve this process, free microbiologists from repetitive work, and instead allow them to use their expert knowledge and experience for more complex tasks.

In response to this need, we have created Bactomatic – an innovative device for automating routine, monotonous diagnostics, thanks to which specialists are able to conduct many tests simultaneously faster and more precisely, reducing the amount of repetitive work to the necessary minimum.

Application

One of the key applications of Bactomatic is testing the microbiological purity of products, early detection of growth, quantitative and qualitative assessment of microbial colonies grown on solid media. Thanks to the device, it is possible to recognize microorganisms based on many data sources, such as photos, point clouds or hyperspectral imaging.

Bactomatic is used not only in the pharmaceutical industry, but can also be successfully adapted to the needs of other industries, e.g. food, cosmetics, as well as for the use of sanitary and epidemiological services or research and medical laboratories.

Monitoring colony growth kinetics

The device uses hybrid analysis of RGB photos and 3D scanning, which significantly shortens the colony detection time.

Innovative vision system

Bactomatic has a system of three vision methods for hourly measurement of microbial growth, which is analyzed by artificial intelligence.

Precise imaging

The device periodically photographs the sample surface, creates its hyperspectral spectrum and a 3D scan. If the monitored microorganisms are detected or the number of colonies is exceeded, the microbiologist immediately receives a report on which of the samples requires his attention.

Advanced data processing pipeline

The device uses an advanced data processing pipeline based on artificial intelligence algorithms, thanks to which the analysis results are highly precise and available in real time.

Three-module design

The three-module structure of the device allows for maintenance-free cultivation, monitoring of colony growth and final diagnostics from the moment the seed is placed in the incubator.

Filtration and air flow system

Thanks to the built-in filtration and air flow system, the device ensures high cleanliness of the chamber, effectively preventing contamination during the sample imaging process.

Supervision and remote monitoring of cultivation

The device has an intuitive interface and a fully integrated application with remote supervision function. This ensures easy implementation and use of the system, enabling diagnostic decisions to be made in real time.

Possibility of adaptation

Bactomatic enables the adaptation of the software to perform diagnostics on bipartite plates and analyze the kinetics of growth on selected media in order to differentiate the metabolic features of various strains of microorganisms.

Production safety

Automation of routine and mass microbiological analyzes translates into greater process safety. The device guarantees attention to production quality and biological purity and is compliant with CE, FC, RoHS.

Cost optimization

The implementation of Bactomatic allows you to reduce production losses and reduce the costs of storing products before quality validation.

Accuracy and precision

The device allows for autonomous counting of grown microbial colonies with an accuracy of min. 95%, specifying their species/genus affiliation. The photos are analyzed using convolutional neural networks, which allows precise location and classification of colonies at an early stage of growth.

Environmentally friendly

Bactomatic detects microorganisms for up to 6 hours. incubation. This makes it possible to quickly stop production and minimize product disposal losses, which in turn also contributes to reducing the burden on the natural environment caused by the disposal of contaminated products.
